Home Party History with Love Nest
Linda Proulx, the owner of Love Nest, did the first Love Nest home party
in Winnipeg on June 6, 1983. Between 1983 and 1988 Linda had anywhere
from 5 to 25 ladies in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba doing parties for
her. While doing Home Parties Linda operated a store out of the
basement of her St. Vital home until November of 1990. At that time,
because of customer demand for a store front operation with easy
parking, Linda expanded Love Nest and opened the first store on St.
Annes Road in Winnipeg. The St. Annes store was moved to a new larger
location on St. Annes Road on August 16, 1998.
Linda continued to have
staff doing parties until 1997. At that time, the product line became
so large in our stores, that it was impossible to choose which products
to bring to the home parties, so the Home Party division of Love Nest
was shut down. Love Nest's first Franchise Location was sold to Diane
Houston in 1997 and a store was opened on Main Street. A third
location, a franchise was opened at Portage and Westwood in December,
1999. The franchise was bought back from the owners on August 1, 2002.
Our three locations are bright and inviting and our well trained staff
do an excellent job of assisting all our customers with our very large
selection of well-priced products. Because of our very large selection
of products, Love Nest no longer continues to do Home Parties.
If booking a home party for your friends, keep in mind that Love Nest
staff have not attended Vicki's home parties. Therefore, ask
questions and make sure this is the kind of party that you want to have with your
friends.
